PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday suspended the executi
on of a death-row inmate who was sentenced to death by a military court for invo
lvement in
terrorism.
A PHC division bench suspended the executi
on of Qasim Shah who was sentenced to death by a military court for invo
lvement in an attack on a non-governmental organisation located in Mansehra,
in which five people lost their lives. The relatives of the convict had filed a review petition in the PHC, after which the execution was suspended.
It is worth mentioning here that the PHC had also suspended the executi
on of another death-row in
mate Fazal Rabi on August 29, 2016.
